For the coronavirus crisis
Hello. These are certainly crazy, confusing and frightening times. But they will pass.
In the meantime, we need to do what we can for each other to help us all survive this with our mental and physical health intact.
To that end, I’ve created this free immune system boosting hypnosis recording. You are free to listen, download and share it.
When we are stressed, the brain interprets it as meaning that we are in danger. It then sets in motion the fight or flight response (the sympathetic nervous system response) in order for us to be able to fight off any physical danger, or to run away from it.
In order to do that, it diverts resources away from our other physiological systems, including our immune system. One of the outcomes of this, is that our bodies stop producing while blood cells, which fight off attacks by viruses such as the coronavirus.
The recording has been designed to help combat the effects of stress, by promoting relaxation and letting go of anxious and worrying thoughts, and reinforcing the suggestion that you are okay. If we can tell our mind that we are okay and get it to believe it, then it’s not going to also be able to believe that we are in danger, and therefore it can shut off the fight/flight response and get back to strengthening our immune system.
The recording also includes positive visualisation for strengthening your immune system. This follows research into psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) which studies how the mind can be used to stimulate the immune system to improve health.

The mind and the body are connected. Stress and anxiety (essentially the imaginary worry that something bad is going to happen) has been proven to have serious physical effects. So instead, we are using the rehearsal of positive thoughts and beliefs to create the opposite effect that stress has.
